Solar Billing for Landlords
At present is is predominantly owner occupiers installing Solar on their properties and there has been no way for Landlords to bill their tenants for the power generated on the rental property.
Paua to the People expects to have solar billing for landlords in 2025. Please contact us if you are a Landlord wanting to install Solar on your rental properties so that we can complete development quicker.
Export Only Solar
For a low cost, Paua to the People can sell solar exported to the grid for you at the same rates the generators get. This service is only available on ICP dedicated to export only (no electricity is supplied via this ICP).
Multiple Trading
Multiple trading is where more than one retailer (trader) supplies a single property. The most practical application for Multiple Trading is to allow one retailer to supply electricity to the property while the second maximises returns for solar exported to the grid.
Paua to the People is the retailer supporting the Kainga Ora multiple trading trial which allows them to monitise solar energy exported to the grid. This important trial was instrumental in demonstrating the minimal industry changes required to make multiple trading a reality.
The Electricity Authority is evaluating Multiple Trading so watch this space.
